Vintage sound from one of Southern California’s best rooms. Built in 1977 from the same architectural plans used to construct Hollywood’s famous Gold Star Studio, Twin Star Recording Studio is an exact twin of the original Gold Star minus the echo chamber. 

We feature 24-track analog as well as state-of-the-art digital recording, (and look for Dolby Atmos/spatial capabilities later this year.) Our live room is highly flexible and capable of accommodating up to 30 musicians. 

Opened in 1978, our studio has been home to many past incarnations: Natural Sound, Secret Cedar, Strate Sound, Analog Chew are a few who preceded us. 

Aside from untold local artists who’ve tracked with us, many international acts have either recorded or done live performances here: Death Cab for Cutie, Tegan and Sara, Bloc Party, Silversun Pickups, Nada Surf, the Kooks, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club to name a few.
